Our FUTURES program enables
promising students to succeed
in High School​

High school in Kenya is not free, and few in Kibera can afford the fees. This is where our FUTURES program makes a difference! When students pass Kenya’s national exam at the end of Grade 9, FUTURES sponsors their enrollment in secondary schools -primarily boarding schools across Kenya - covering tuition, room, and board at an annual cost of about 1,000 USD per year.​

And FUTURES goes beyond paying fees. We stay in close touch with each student, offering academic mentoring, helping with extra charges, and walking with them through the emotional ups and downs of high school life. This year, FUTURES is supporting 40 dedicated students.

You can help by SPONSORING A STUDENT: At 1,000 USD per student per year, we can’t do this alone, and you can help by Sponsoring a Student. You’ll be helping a young person from Kibera receive a high school education that would otherwise be out of reach. ​

3% Cover the Fee

Help support a child’s High School education, grades 10 through 12. High School is not free in Africa. The annual cost of High School per child is $1,000/year - this covers tuition, school supplies, school uniforms, bedding materials, three meals a day and medical expenses. Crossing Thresholds has guaranteed each of our students a High School education ~ we need your help! Crossing Thresholds (EIN 26-3924756) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. All donations are tax-deductible.
