$1,758 raised of $3,000 goal
Dear friends and family,
Last summer, I had the privilege of traveling to Kibera, Kenya - Africa's largest urban slum - as a volunteer with Crossing Thresholds, a nonprofit that has been building schools there since 2009. It was one of the most life-altering experiences of my life, and I am hoping to return this July.
Crossing Thresholds builds and sustains primary and high schools in Kibera, partnering with local community leaders, employing Kenyan teachers, and providing daily meals to every student. These are not just schools; they are safe, nurturing spaces in a community where poverty, food insecurity, and lack of public education have long defined the horizon for children who deserve so much more.
As part of my commitment to volunteer again with Crossing Thresholds, I am launching a fundraising campaign for $3,000 to help build the next school and cover the costs of being in Kenya. No donation is too small - truly. And if giving isn't possible right now, visiting their website or passing this along to someone who might be moved by it means just as much.
