ELI UPDATE - ELI Trip

In July, the ELI team returned from Kibera, Kenya, after completing its inaugural trip, where they built an urban garden to support the Crossing Thresholds feeding program. Partnering with Cheza Cheza, a Kenyan nonprofit, the project brought together a team of young leaders from both Kibera and the U.S., uniting across cultures to create a sustainable food source and a vibrant community space.

In just one week, a plot of land was transformed into a thriving garden that will provide fresh produce for the students in our schools. Beyond its immediate impact on nutrition, the project served as a living lesson in sustainability, collaboration, and the power of the emerging leaders in our communities. By working side by side with students, teachers, and community members, the ELI team not only cultivated crops but also built relationships that will continue to grow long after the trip concluded.

This inaugural effort highlights ELI’s mission: empowering young leaders to drive meaningful change while building the next generation of leadership.

Join us in planting the seeds of tomorrow’s change. ELI is welcoming young leaders ready to dream big, act boldly, and help shape a more hopeful future.
